Here Comes Another Instagram Stories Update

Anyone else feel just a tinge of anxiety while making an Instagram Story? I’m not talking about the ones you do in your off-time. I’m talking about the ones you spend actual time dreaming up as part of your marketing strategy. Normally, if you forget just one element of your original plan, you would have to delete the entire thing and start from scratch. However, if the latest rumors are true, our lives are about to get a whole lot easier.

According to Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, we’ll soon be able to save drafts of Instagram Stories. His announcement was really just a short tweet but if it’s coming from the boss, it’s probably true.

This means that Instagrammers will be able to create Instagram stories and save them as drafts to complete and/or publish later. In fact, one could create multiple drafts to choose from later. I know what you’re probably asking yourself: can’t we do this already? Technically, yes, but as noted by WeRSM, users aren’t able to save certain elements of their Story and still need to re-add those later.

“You can already download Stories to your camera roll to publish in the future, but this doesn’t happen natively – so you lose any interactive elements like tags, etc,” they wrote.

This will eliminate this small yet tedious step. No word on when this feature will go live but for now, we have this preview, courtesy of app developer Alessandro Paluzzi (above).

It’s no wonder Instagram is the favorite social platform among entrepreneurs—the experience is becoming more seamless by the day.
